Does wearing colour make you happy?

I say - yes!

A question I get a lot is:

“Do I need to wear a leotard to G. Pump?”

To which I respond “Of course not! But I do HIGHLY encourage it!”

And here’s why…

When humans look at warm toned colours it creates exciting, playful & happy emotions. Red creates energetic and intense emotion and scientists have proved it makes your heart beat faster.

When we look at bright colours like pink, red and orange our body actually releases the ‘feel-good’ chemical dopamine. All you have to do is look at G. Pump and you’re going to feel better!

But what about wearing it?

I started wearing colourful leotards because they looked like fun and I loved the way they made me feel. They’re playful and an instant pick-me-up; do we need any more of an excuse to wear something that makes us feel good?

Every time I pull on a brightly coloured G. Pump outfit I feel like I’m pulling on a ‘high-energy’ uniform. There’s good times guaranteed in these leotards. If (heaven forbid) I’m not in the mood to exercise, once I’ve got a hot pink lycra leotard on there’s no stopping me!

My colourful G. Pump wardrobe is my armour, like a scientist pulls on their lab coat or a tradie pulls on their fluros, pulling on my bright leotards is like getting ready for the day ahead. I’m getting ready to create some good vibes, put smiles on faces and change the way people feel about exercise (and lycra!).

So the next time you’re looking for exercise motivation, you’re about to G. Pump or you just want to have fun - pull out your favorite activewear or pull on something tight and bright!

It’s science, it’s good for you!
